AI code editor for pair programming, refactoring, and codebase navigation.

AI coding agent with a context engine indexed on large codebases, available in VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and a CLI.

Overview
Augment Code is an AI coding assistant and agent whose main feature is a context engine that indexes an entire codebase, including large monorepos, so completions, chat and agent tasks understand existing modules, conventions and dependencies. It runs inside VS Code, JetBrains IDEs and Vim, and ships a terminal agent called Auggie that can plan and execute multi-file changes, run tests and open pull requests. Remote agents can work on cloud branches in parallel while the developer continues locally. It integrates with GitHub, Linear, Jira, Slack, Notion and MCP servers so the agent can read tickets and documentation during a task. Small product teams with an older or larger codebase use it where generic assistants lose context. A pilot is one developer on the Indie plan for a month, tracking credits used per completed ticket. Caveat: usage is metered through credits that different actions consume at different rates, so monthly cost is hard to predict until the team has a few weeks of data.
