Better Analyst is the 2026 rebrand of Formula Bot, a tool that began as a text-to-formula generator for Excel and Google Sheets and has grown into a chat-based data analysis app. Users upload spreadsheets, CSVs or connect databases and analytics sources, then ask questions in plain language to get formulas, cleaned data, pivot-style summaries, charts and AI-generated dashboards. It still explains and debugs existing formulas, writes SQL and regex, and offers Excel and Google Sheets add-ons so analysis can happen inside the spreadsheet. Data Flows automate recurring cleanups and a Slack agent answers data questions in chat. Typical users are marketing, finance and operations staff at small businesses who are not comfortable writing formulas or SQL. A pilot is uploading a monthly sales export on the free plan, asking for the top ten customers and a trend chart, and checking the answers against a manual calculation. Caveat: the free tier allows only a handful of messages per month, and the product has changed names and plan structures more than once, so documentation and pricing pages can be inconsistent.
