Xero is a cloud accounting platform used by small businesses and their accountants in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Its AI assistant, JAX (Just Ask Xero), is included at no extra charge: it suggests bank reconciliation matches, creates invoices and quotes from chat, and answers questions such as who owes you money this week. Hubdoc receipt capture is bundled, and after Xero's acquisition of Melio, US plans include free standard ACH bill payments. It integrates with Shopify, Stripe, Square, Gusto, Dext, HubSpot and over a thousand marketplace apps. A practical pilot is connecting bank feeds and sales channels, then checking JAX reconciliation suggestions for a month before accepting them in bulk. Caveat: the Early plan caps invoices and bills at 20 per month, so active businesses move to Growing almost immediately.
